Magdalene

A cold day in December calls for a little ray of sunshine. These are from a shoot I did this summer with my nieces and nephew shortly before their baby brother was born. At the time, Magpie was still the baby. She's grown up a lot in the past few months and I'm afraid pretty soon the sweet little songs she sings, in a language I'm not sure even she understands, will soon be a distant memory. For now, we'll enjoy them while they last...

Happy Halloween!

Christmas is coming too early this year! Everywhere I go I see twinkly lights and hear Christmas songs...I  even received a holiday card in the mail the other day. Too soon! I love Christmas, but I also love Thanksgiving, so in the spirit of a good meal shared with loved ones, I'm going back a couple weeks and posting some pictures from the pre-trick-or-treating Halloween meal I made for my nieces and nephews.

Cal vs. MN

Whenever I get a free Saturday from shooting weddings in the fall, I try to get to a football game with my husband. These shots are from my first game at the Gopher's new TCF Bank Stadium. We lost to California that day, but the game was exciting and it was a gorgeous day for football!

New Orleans

Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans
And miss it each night and day?
I know I'm not wrong... the feeling's gettin' stronger
The longer, I stay away.
Miss the moss covered vines...the tall sugar pines
Where mockin' birds used to sing
And I'd like to see that lazy Mississippi...hurryin' into spring.

Oh, the Mardi Gras...the memories....of Creole tunes....that fill the air
I dream...of Oleanders in June....and soon I'm wishin' that I was there.

Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans
When that's where you left your heart?
And there's something more...I miss the one I care for
More than I miss New Orleans.

Pool Party

There's something so intriguing about sparkling blue water...maybe it's because I spent much of my childhood floating in my grandma's pool...maybe it's because I love the ocean but live in a landlocked state...maybe it's because swimming outdoors in Minnesota definitely means it's summer. Whatever the reason, on this day the sun was warm, the water was cool, and the kids were laughing - I can't think of anyplace I'd rather be.

Baby shoot at the Lyndale Park Rose Gardens.

Peony

They bloomed while I was gone, but there was one perfect peony left when I got home.

Atlantic Beach

Minnesota is too far from the beach.

Charleston

One of the few pictures from my trip to South Carolina. Most of my free time was spent relaxing on the beach...

Alyson & Kathryn

It's always fun to see how kids have grown. I took Kathryn's baby pictures when she was about a month old. Now she's two and has a new baby sister. What a beautiful family!

Nina & Maya

Luckily a large portion of my family lives in Arizona, where it's warm and sunny year round. I took these pictures of my nieces in January, while taking a short break from a very cold and snowy Minnesota winter.

Hannah

She has the most beautiful blue eyes.

Justin & Becky

A lovely winter wedding right here in Minneapolis, MN.
